Some places never get old.......

September 14th 2012

Grazie
2373 Yonge St.
(Yonge/Eglinton)

I first went to this place years and years ago, (I am talking at least 10 or more).  It was amazing then, and I had forgotten about it for awhile, so when I found myself looking for places to go on this quest of mine, I hoped number one it was still there, and two, that it was still amazing!

We (Steph) and I had had a long day at work so we needed some "relaxation" time.  We headed across St Clair on the streetcar to Yonge, and then headed north to Eglinton.

It was still there, so that was a good sign.  There was a line up out the door, even better sign!  Steph and I looked at each other and we were excited.  We squeezed our way in and it was the same owner who greeted us and told us it would be at least 45 minutes for a table.  We looked at each other, but both nodded in agreement that "no problem" we would wait.  We "made ourselves thin" and stood by the door.   As the minutes passed we moved to the bar area, and  it still remained jammed.  We were getting more excited by the minute.

It was no more than 15 minutes, when our number was called. (Not really), he smiled and waved at us to come, he had a table for us.  We got a table in the back, along the wall.  We were happy, our number one priority had been met.  Great seating!!

Our waiter was a larger gentleman, and it was like a ballet watching him weave his way around those tables.  He obviously knew what he was doing.

I ordered wine!

The menu is large, but it is amazing.  I love the fact that they strongly recommend that "there are no substitutions".  Love it!!

We had a Bruschetta Pizza and Mussels to start.  Well Steph had the bruschetta pizza and she shared it with me and I had the mussels.  Both were amazing!!!!

We also had the Cefalu pasta and the Catrina pasta.  Let me describe them both for you!

The Cefalu is spaghetti with grilled chicken, fresh spinach & ricotta pesto (with pine nuts).

The Catrina is spinach linguine with grilled chicken, pancetta, diced tomatoes & black peppercorns.

We are both in "heaven"!!!  They didn't need any substitutions, they were amazing as is!

For desert, we decided to have the "Flourless Chocolate Torte".

Is there such a thing as "double heaven"?  Because we are there.

Grazie is as amazing as I remember it.  It has not loss its appeal!  I will be there as often as my life permits!!
Strongly recommend it to all that read this!

I have even discovered that they now have a place in Vaughan!!  Hurrah for them!!!!

2 smiley faces today
