Again, another very long day at work. My boss (Kumar), knew I was about to explode, so he told me take a break, just get out of the store for a few minutes, to clear my head. I told him I was heading to Mickey D's, (McDonalds), he said he was already there. I told him I would join him. Before he got transferred to another store, McDonalds became the running joke for him. We referred to it as his office, and if it was his lunch time, we usually knew where to find him. His "office".
He told me he found McDonalds very peaceful, and as I sat there that day, I would have to agree. The place was jammed, but everyone was doing something. There were on laptops, phones, or listening to music on their ipod's, or watching CNN on the TV moniters.
McDonalds has really grown up. Yea it's still the place to bring kids for their happy meals but, it's headded in totally new direction. Coffee House, really? Some say now McDonalds has the best coffee around.
Couldn't tell you, I quit coffee a year ago, don't miss it, but really enjoy the smell.
So as we sat there, at our hightop, and he told me to relax, I couldn't help but wonder, if it was just these quiet moments like this that made him so "Ghandi like". He said he always got a muffin and a coffee, and called his wife, when his day got tough, or just sat there and people watched.
The food? it's McDonalds what can you expect. I really go out of my way, not to eat at McDonalds. There is just something so processed about the food. But I am not saying I don't like it.
Also I f they make a mistake, they correct it immediately with a smile.
So for those who know where I work, you will notice that I am slowly circled out from my work place, in my choice of restaurants.
I had a blast doing this, as you will notice with each entry.

We are eating Italian!
Sunday July 15th.
Another one of those day's at work and again no lunch.
My great friend cindy, who is always up for going out to eat eagerly voluntereed to come out with me for food. Our destination:
Vesuvio Pizzeria & Spaghetti House
3014 Dundas Street West
We had been here before, so we knew we were in for a great meal.
Decor is great.
Service is great,( they never have a problem with me plugging in my phone at the bar, when my battery is low or dying!)
We always have appetizers. (usually bruschetta) EXCELLENT
then it's either pasta or pizza.
The gnnochi is great. (it's homemade) and the pizza is really great as well.
You can always tell the food is good in one of these places, by the number of takeouts going out the door.
Lot's!
Great selection of wine, which always makes me happy!
My only complaint that I have is that it seems the same damm fruit fly finds my wine glass everytime I am there.
Prices are very, very reasonable.

Crazy Day at Work
So today is Saturday July 14th.
It was a crazy day and work and I did not get my lunch.
These were the early day's of my adventure so I started slowly and we went to Swiss Chalet. Ah!, you say??? Swiss Chalet?
It was close and we were hungry.
I have got to give them credit. From the time you walk in the door, till the moment you leave, they have got it DOWN!!
They don't miss a beat!
The wine selection on the other hand is not to my liking and wish they would change it. It really only offers Ontario wines, which I am not a fan of.
I always have the rack of ribs and chicken combo, and I never, ever eat the chicken,(because I am too full and end up taking it home) but I always order it anyway. They sure know how to do ribs!! I wish I could cook rib's that way. The meat just falls of the bone. I never have enough napkins and always have to ask for more.
The little finger bowls are a great idea and like I said don't have really anything bad to say about Swiss Chalet.
You can only hope that when you decide to dine there, that there is not a table full of screaming kids next to you. Just cross you fingers when you go in.

Getting started....
So this is my first posting and I want to give a quick break down of what to expect on my blog. It means what the title says. I find when ever I am out there is an adventure to be had.
This is how the adventure I am on now came to life.
I turned 50 this year, (July 29th). I wanted to do something BIG! I wanted to travel to italy and greece for my birthday and hoped that someone who come with me. No one wanted to, couldn't afford it, couldn't get time off, and on and on. That didn't deter me, I simply decided that I would go on my own. Well that opened a can of worms!
My daughter and best friend would not hear of that! Me? Traveling alone across to the other side of the world, by myself? Yes, I had only flown once in my life, but that wasn't the point. NOT HAPPENING!! Was the response that I got. "Especially", since my best friend said stay away from greece, with all the protests and stuff". Jeez!!
So much for that plan.
It was mid July, when I decided what to do. I would go to 50 restaurants, one for each of my 50 years.
Some one suggested 50 before 50 but it was already July 11th and that just wasn't happening. It would be to rushed. In saying that I should have thought of that alot sooner, with me finishing the 50 around my birhday. But what can you do? The idea was in it's infant stage and it was a work in progress. There were no rules yet, I still was thinking them up.
Ah the rules!!
Rules are as follows:
Each restaurant I would jot down in my daytimer the number and the person or persons whom I was there with. I kept score with smily faces, and when I was done the 50, I would then go back to my most favourite one with all the persons that I had dined out with during the adventure. (so far the total is 21).
So I know it's going to be wierd, but I didn't have my blog up and running back then. So you and I will revist my adventures (the dates will have long past, but I remember each and every one like it happened yesterday. Sound good?
Tomorrow wil be the first one, July 14th 2012....stay tuned.

- Can't go back to the same restaurant once I have eaten at it.
- If I am eating at a "chain" restaurant can no longer eat at any of the their other locations.
- I have to sit down and eat in the restaurant. (take-out doesn't count).
