Big fat.............

September 7th 2012

Big fat Burrito
285 Augusta ave.
Kensington Market

I am in Kensington market today.  There is just something about this place that I can't put my finger on..  There is hussle and bussle about the market no matter when you come.  The  shop's are always busy and the streets are usually filled with  people.  The smell of fresh bread from the bakery, and the incense from some of the shops, are just some of the smells in the air.  From the cheese shop that I only buy my cheese from to the clothing shops and the wonderful incense shop that I need to visit shortly, I just love  this place.

I have to tell you, I have been coming to kensington market for years, and I have got to say I have walked by this place many times.  There were always people sitting and eating, but I just really never paid attention to the place.  Well today I was looking.  I read the menu and I found myself more hungry than I already was.  It's just a small place, with a few seats, and the smell is just amazing!

I went to the counter and ordered.  As the girl asked what I wanted on my burrito, I found myself just saying yes to everything!!  I was getting excited.  I got a bottle of water and my ticket and waited for my burrito.  They only take cash, but that's OK!  I had cash today.

I got my burrito, and headed to a seat right at the window.  My seat looks right up and across Augusta and I am staring at the car someone has filled with soil and painted.  They have grass growing out of the front where an engine should be and flowers growing out of the roof.  I watched as person after person take pictures of the car and then stand with this car for another picture.  Very cool.  Tourists?

The burrito was just amazing, I actually wanted to go back up and get another one to take home, but I held off, because I didn't want to carry it around all day.  The burrito was all I had for lunch that day, it was all I needed, it was huge!

I will definitely be coming back to the Big Fat Burrito in Kensington Market.  If you haven't been, you have to give it a try.  Best burrito I have every had.

I am learning on this adventure that Toronto is such an amazing city and I have to get out more and explore what it has to offer.
