Lunch with the boss

Monday July 16th 2012

Again, another very long day at work.  My boss (Kumar), knew I was about to explode, so he told me take a break, just get out of the store for a few minutes, to clear my head.  I told him I was heading to Mickey D's, (McDonalds), he said he was already there.  I told him I would join him.  Before he got transferred to another store, McDonalds became the running joke for him.  We referred to it as his office, and if it was his lunch time, we usually knew where to find him.  His "office".

He told me he found McDonalds very peaceful, and as I sat there that day, I would have to agree.  The place was jammed, but everyone was doing something.  There were on laptops, phones, or listening to music on their ipod's, or watching CNN on the TV moniters.

McDonalds has really grown up.  Yea it's still the place to bring kids for their happy meals but, it's headded in totally new direction.  Coffee House, really?  Some say now McDonalds has the best coffee around.
Couldn't tell you, I quit coffee a year ago, don't miss it, but really enjoy the smell.

So as we sat there, at our hightop, and he told me to relax, I couldn't help but wonder, if it was just these quiet moments like this that made him so "Ghandi like".  He said he always got a muffin and a coffee, and called his wife, when his day got tough, or just sat there and people watched.

The food? it's McDonalds what can you expect.  I really go out of my way, not to eat at McDonalds.  There is just something so processed about the food.  But I am not saying I don't like it.
Also I f they make a mistake, they correct it immediately with a smile.

So for those who know where I work, you will notice that I am slowly circled out from my work place, in my choice of restaurants.

I had a blast doing this, as you will notice with each entry.
